My name is Kollin and I’m from good ol' WISCO. My life is pretty simple and I tend to follow a lot of different things revolving around sports, movies/television and fandom. I’ve gone to school, gotten the four-year degree (first in the fam to do it) and I’m still looking for that right opportunity to do something I really enjoy. Currently in my spare time I coach and spend time with my fiancee and pets and I’m just enjoying the day to day of learning to be a real adult.
Here’s the run down in depth:
I was born in Washington (yes, the state) raised in WISCO. Probably the best thing that could have ever happened to me but my mom will tell you that I was screaming all the way through Montana.
I went to UW-Stevens Point for college after one semester at a transfer school, more on that at a later date. Changed my mind three or four times on what I wanted to major in and ended up graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication with an emphasis in Public Relations, a Minor in Psychology and a Certificate in Coaching. Still have no idea what sort of job I should be doing, but life is for figuring those things out.
Currently I coach football at a local high school. I’m a defensive line coach for our freshman/sophomore team. Honestly can’t believe that I get to coach and it is truly a blessing. There is something about getting to have a positive influence on young lives and help them accomplish individual and team goals. I can definitely say that I am completely opposite of the coaches I had when I played and I hope that this is something that truly helps drive these young people in growing into great individuals without dealing with less than fun coaches like I had.

I have lived with my fiancee (just got engaged, so that’s still a little weird to say) for the past 2 years and have enjoyed learning how to adult with her every day. We have a peculiar cat named Lexus and an energetic one-year old mini long-haired dachshund named Ridley. They keep us pretty occupied when at home, but are very loving (when they aren’t destroying paperwork and socks).
I’m a strong supporter and follower of football as a whole. I love watching, researching and discussing football with anyone anywhere at any time. I’ve been a NY Jets fan since age 7 and have grown to love the game, love the process and love to learn more from people that just know more. Currently I’m super excited to be in this time where a new professional football league (Alliance of American Football or AAF) is starting and working to better players and the game as a whole.
I have been torn away from reality repeatedly be television and cinema throughout my life and it is so amazing to me when something really connects or makes me ask why. How I Met Your Mother (HIMYM) was the show that led me to love the binge and connection of television and really appreciate the understanding of viewing a story though the lens of many years and a week or two of time. The story so suspenseful throughout but even repeated, the characters and stories still have meaning and are consistent with time passing.
Cinema has a similar effect on my life as television. Movies have allowed an escape into other worlds and times throughout my life and I’ve enjoyed almost every experience. Luckily, I have a partner in crime in my fiancee to travel to these worlds and experiences with me and it makes movies extremely interesting to discuss and explore. Exploring the industry through podcast interviews and online videos from people within cinema is a way I like to get more information on upcoming films and previous things found in movies and movie franchises.

I grew up in a home that was all for falling into fandom and entertainment. Let me tell you, it stuck. I came into the Star Wars universe when episode 1 was coming out and I fell in love. This fandom has been a large part of my life and taught me about the good and bad, what goes into entertainment and so many other things.
I have no idea what I’m doing writing a blog but we’ll see where this leads and what things I can come up with to write about and share experiences about. I hope you will enjoy what I have to say and maybe learn something interesting too.
